Learn, create and grow your collage skills in this workshop for people aged 18+ , beginners welcome.

Welcome to the Collage Club at Ryde Library!

Ryde Library • Tuesday 23 June10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Bookings are essential. Step into a relaxed, image-rich creative space at Ryde Library and discover the cut-and-paste magic of collage—layering colour, texture, words and found paper into an artwork that feels uniquely yours. No pressure and no perfectionism; just a friendly reset for your imagination.

Your facilitator, Anne, will guide a semi-structured session with prompts, quick demos and optional one-on-one tips. You’ll explore simple composition tricks (balance, contrast and focal points), easy layering and adhesive techniques that make your piece look “finished”, and ways to add story and meaning—whether you’re a total beginner or returning to creativity.

Anne Chestnut is an analogue collage artist and librarian from Sydney. She has made collages for businesses, musicians and exhibitions, but mostly for their own enjoyment. She has been a member of the Social Glue of Sydney since it’s inception in 2017. Anne’s collages are mostly meditative, working with whatever is at hand. She likes to work in the moment: appreciate the original elements, enjoy something new and leave it be until next time.

All materials are provided (plus you’re welcome to bring meaningful paper items like photos, tickets or text). You’ll leave with your own finished collage to take home, and light refreshments will be available. This workshop is for adults aged 18+; people with disability are welcome, and carers/support persons may attend without a ticket (please indicate this in the booking form). Places are limited—please book ahead.
