Ryde’s Veterans: Stories of Service
This project aims to collect and preserve first-hand accounts from Australian Defence Force veterans and Reservists connected to the City of Ryde.
From the Vietnam War to contemporary operations such as Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq and United Nations peacekeeping missions, these narratives capture the lived experience of service personnel across generations.
Through recording these stories, this project will document not only military service, but also the enduring connection between veterans and the Ryde community before, during and after their service.
If you’ve served, share your story with us. Your voice matters.
Stories can be contributed through the form below. You may also choose to contribute only your service dates and role for addition to an honour roll.
All information shared is confidential and will not be published without your permission. A member of our library team will follow up with you regarding your submission and how we might share your story.
Updates on this project and the stories being shared will be added on this webpage as the project progresses.
