Terms and Conditions of Entry at the RALC

Entry

Centre Management may refuse entry or direct any person to leave at any time. Entry will be refused to anyone appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. By entering, patrons agree to follow all rules, signage, and staff directions. Rude, abusive, disruptive, or offensive behaviour may result in removal without refund or suspension from the Centre.

Risk and Liability

Patrons use the Centre at their own risk to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these conditions limits any rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Patrons must follow safety directions and behave responsibly.

Lost / Stolen Property

The Centre accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Lockers are available for use at patrons’ risk.

Age – General Admission

  • 0–4 years: Free with full paying adult.
  • 5–15 years: Child rate.
  •  16+: Adult rate.

Valid concession/student ID must be shown.

Sauna/Spa/Steam restricted to patrons aged 16+.

Supervision

The Centre is a partner of Royal Life Saving’s Keep Watch program.

  • Children 0–5 and non‑swimmers: Adult must be in the water within arm’s reach.
  • Children 6–14: Active supervision with constant visual contact; adult prepared to enter the water.
  • Patrons with additional needs:  A responsible support person may be required.
  • Groups with children under 10: Minimum supervision ratio 1 adult to 5 children.
  • Stadium: Children under 15 must be supervised.

Carers & Support Workers

Carers must be prepared to enter the water if required. Mobility hoists may be used by carers with staff assistance.

Personal Floatation Devices

Inflatable aids permitted for children, who are treated as non‑swimmers and must be within arm’s reach of an adult. Bodyboards and toys may be restricted during busy times.

Inflatable Obstacle Course

  • Minimum age 6.
  • 15‑metre swim test required without goggles; wristbands must be worn.
  • Unsafe behaviour may result in removal without refund.

Giant Water Slide

  • One rider at a time; small children may ride with an adult.
  • Unsafe behaviour will result in removal without refund.

Memberships and Multi Visit Passes

Passes must be scanned on each entry and remain Centre property. Stadium use not included.

Fitness Passport

Provides pool access only. Stadium, steam, sauna and spa require additional payment.

Spitting

Strictly prohibited.

Bag Checks

The Centre may conduct safety‑related bag inspections.

Prohibited Items and Activities

No glass, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, vapes, gum, zinc cream, helium balloons, weapons, and pets (except assistance animals); bikes, scooters, and similar must remain outside. Running, pushing, swearing, littering, and diving are not permitted.

Animals

Pets are not permitted except assistance animals. Proof of accreditation may be requested only not obvious.

Spa, Sauna, Steam Room

Wristbands required; sharing is not permitted. Patrons under 16 not allowed. Shower before use. Limit use to 15 minutes with rest. No clinical care is provided.

Program Pool

Program Pool availability may change without notice.

No access during swimming lessons times.

Smoking and Vaping

Prohibited throughout the facility and surrounding outside areas.

Lap Swimming and Diving

Use lanes appropriate for ability and keep to the left. Overtake only at lane ends.

Diving prohibited unless supervised by approved instructors.

Swimming Coaching and Teaching

Only Centre staff or approved groups may teach. Teaching immediate family members is permitted.

Photography

No recording devices in change rooms. Photos of others prohibited without consent. Inappropriate images may be deleted and police notified.

Stadium

Dry area only. No wet swimwear. Food and drinks prohibited. Users may be relocated for bookings.

Person Hygiene and Change Rooms

Patrons must shower before swimming. Patrons who are not toilet trained are required to wear suitable swim nappies when using the pool.

No swimming after recent vomiting or diarrhoea.

Please use change rooms respectfully and always be mindful of others’ privacy, safety, and comfort. Family and accessible change rooms are available for patrons who prefer additional privacy, please limit use to 10 minutes.

Lap Lane Availability

Subject to operational needs.

Clothing and Swim Attire

Appropriate swimwear only; no cotton shorts, jeans, t‑shirts.

Parking

Parking provided by City of Ryde Council and used at patrons’ own risk.

Conditions of Entry – Enforcement

Patrons must pay the applicable fee. Non‑compliance may result in removal without refund.

Risk and Responsibility – Additional

Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervision. All injuries must be reported immediately.

Persons with Disability

RALC supports equitable access under NSW and Commonwealth disability law. Reasonable adjustments will be made so far as reasonably practicable. Where necessary for safe access, a support person may be required and will be admitted free of charge. Staff may provide general assistance only and cannot provide clinical or personal care or one‑to‑one supervision. Patrons needing adjustments are encouraged to notify staff in advance.

Governing Law

These conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
