Community Book Club

North Ryde Library will be closed from Friday 8 October until further notice due to construction work. As a result, the community book club sets will be unavailable at this time.  We can still take reservations for when we reopen, so please call the acting programs librarian on 9952 8347 for further details.

The Community Book Club collection is a resource for Book Clubs meeting in the community. The collection consists of almost 80 sets of popular and classic book titles, with each set containing 10 copies of the title.

What is Included

Each set comes with:

  • 10 copies of the book
  • Discussion guides that include synopsis, author biography and questions.

Some Book Club sets may also contain an Audio Book or Large Print version of the title.

Getting Started

To borrow from the Community Book Club collection, you need to: 

  • Nominate a coordinator for your group.
  • Your coordinator can visit one of our libraries and sign up for a Book Club membership
  • An annual fee per Book Club group applies (see ‘Library fees & charges’ for more information) giving you access to the entire collection.
Loans
  • You can borrow a title for a maximum of six weeks.
  • Reserve your titles by calling any of the City of Ryde libraries or emailing rydelibrary@ryde.nsw.gov.au.
  • Collect your reservation from library staff at your nominated library.
