Prepare for an Emergency

Sydney-siders have experienced bushfires, floods and storms in the past 5 years. People are becoming more aware of the importance of resilience and know they need to be ready for future shock shocks.

Resilient Sydney Strategy 2025

The Ryde Resilience Plan and Resilient Sydney Strategy recognise the importance of being ready – where people and organisations are prepared for emergencies.

As the impacts of climate change increase, many more communities in Sydney face risk from natural hazards including floods, bushfires, coastal inundation and heat.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in an emergency. Take control by being prepared.

There are three key steps to prepare for an emergency:

  1. Be informed
  2. Make an emergency plan
  3. Know your neighbours
