Open Day at Willandra
St Anne's Anglican Church, a heritage-listed landmark located at 46 Church Street, Ryde, is celebrating its bicentenary this August. Originally constructed in 1826 as a sandstone schoolhouse and chapel, it stands today as the third oldest Anglican church in Australia, with a history deeply intertwined with the development of the Ryde community.
To honour this incredible 200-year milestone, the Ryde District Historical Society is hosting an Open Day on Sunday, 16 August. You are invited to visit and explore a special display of historic artifacts, photographs, and rare items tracking the rich legacy of the church. Celebrate the historic occasion!
Visit Willandra, an 1840s Georgian home.
Explore the house and its views of the Parramatta River, see displays of memorabilia of Ryde’s history from its origins, watch a display of images of Ryde, see what’s in their Archives and purchase RDHS publications.
