The Lunar New Year Festival will be bustling with activities and large crowds are expected over the afternoon. To fully enjoy the event, we advise planning your trip in advance.

Here you’ll find essential information on parkingwalking or cyclingaccessible drop off zone and important road closures to help with traffic management and safety.

Parking

Parking is limited, so we recommend using public transport as your primary option. Public parking is available on surrounding streets and at the following locations: Glen Street Carpark and Rowe St East carpark (with time restrictions).

Walk or Cycle

Walk or Cycle if you live nearby or prefer to get some exercise, the Lunar New Year Festival encourages walkers and cyclists to the event. Please check the distance and route options using your preferred map supplier.

Accessible Drop Off Zone

If you have a mobility parking permit and require close access to the Festival, use our drop-off zone. Enter Hillview Road via West Parade (see map). Limited mobility parking is also located at Eastwood Shopping Centre, Glen Street car park and Rowe Street East carpark. Time restrictions apply.

Important Road Closure

Road Closure and traffic changes will be in effect at:

  • Commuter Carpark (roundabout at Easte Parade and Rowe Street East) will be closed from 11am Friday 27 February until 11.30pm Saturday 28 February (or until safe to re-open).
  • Railway Parade from 6am Saturday 28 February to 11.30pm Saturday 28 February (or until safe to re-open).
  • West Parade from 10am Saturday 28 February to 11:30pm Saturday 28 February (or until safe to re-open).
