Social Media House Rules

We welcome your comments and feedback on Council’s social media channels, however, we ask that you remain respectful, constructive, and focused on the topic at hand.

Please read our house rules below, which are laid out to foster meaningful engagement between Council and our community.

Inappropriate comments directed at others or at Council will not be accepted. This includes any communication that is:

  • Defamatory, offensive, humiliating, threatening or intimidating to council staff and officials or members of the public
  • Derogatory or is sexual in nature
  • Harassment and/or bullying, or is unlawfully discriminatory
  • Misleading or deceptive, including content about Council, council officials or members of the public
  • Breaching the privacy of council officials or members of the public
  • Alleging suspected breaches of Council’s code of conduct or information about the consideration of a matter under the Procedures for the Administration of the Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW
  • Violating an order made by a court
  • Breaching copyright
  • Advertising, endorsing or soliciting commercial products or business
  • Spam

Comments on Council’s social media posts that breach our house rules or stray from the topic may be hidden or removed at our discretion.
