Temporary Closure

All library branches will be closed on Friday 27th February. Normal operating hours will resume on Saturday 28th February. Returns chutes, the Book Locker and our Online Library will be available as usual.

Accessibility

City of Ryde Libraries is committed to providing a range of accessibility needs. Please contact individual branches for help planning your visit or speak to staff while you are in the library for any assistance.

All our library branches are accessible for wheelchair and mobility aid users and are located near accessible parking spaces. Contact branches for details.

Quiet Hours

All branches offer a Quiet Hour each week.

During Quiet Hour, our branches will aim to create a low sensory environment by having dimmed lighting, minimal noise and low-level conversations, where possible.

Visit our library during the following times for a calm library experience:

North Ryde Library: Tuesdays 12 pm–1 pm
Eastwood Library: Tuesdays 1 pm–2 pm
West Ryde Library: Tuesdays 6 pm–7 pm
Ryde Library: Fridays 9 am–10 am
Gladesville Library: Fridays 1 pm–2 pm

Toilets, Changing Places, and Parents’ Rooms

Toilets, including accessible toilets, are available inside the libraries at Ryde, West Ryde, Eastwood and Gladesville. At North Ryde, toilets, including accessible toilets, can be found across the road.

All branches have an infant changing place inside the library. North Ryde and West Ryde Libraries have parents’ rooms inside the library.

Assistance Animals

Registered assistance animals are welcome in our libraries. Other animals are not permitted.

Council staff, including library staff, can request reasonable proof that your animal is a genuine assistance animal.

Accessibility Resources

All branches have a communication board at the service desk. This is designed to help staff and customers speak with each other when there is a communication barrier such as language or disability.

Eastwood Library

Eastwood Library is situated in the centre of Eastwood. It has a range of features including free Wi-Fi, public access computers, accessible toilet facilities and access for wheelchair users.

Gladesville Library

6 Pittwater Road, Gladesville 2111

Featuring a brand new book locker, meeting room, free WiFi and public access computers, Gladesville Library is located on Pittwater Road.

North Ryde Library

201 Coxs Road, North Ryde 2113

Located on Coxs Road, North Ryde Library has a toy library with a great variety of interactive toys and puzzles. The facility is accessible for wheelchair users and also features free WiFi, public access computers, a hearing loop and accessible toilet facilities.

Ryde Library

1 Pope Street, Ryde 2112

The state-of-the-art facility blends the very latest in library design, comfort and accessibility with expanded collections, reading and study spaces, free wireless internet, activity zones and meeting rooms.

West Ryde Library

2 Graf Avenue, West Ryde 2114

Nestled behind West Ryde Plaza, West Ryde Library is home to many STEM features including our digital media lab—The Hive—a cabinet full of curiosities and microscopes to explore the world around us up close.
