This year City of Ryde Libraries is taking part in the Big Summer Read, an Australia-wide summer reading challenge open to children and young people ages 0 – 18 years old. The challenge encourages children to read regularly over the summer and to explore the library for new books and authors they might not usually read.

Log your summer reading and be in the chance to WIN cool prizes!

HOW TO JOIN:

  1. ONLINE: Sign up on by visiting the Big Summer Read ReadBooks Platform. When you register remember to select your local library service, City of Ryde Libraries. You can log your reading progress via the ReadBooks platform.
    OR
  2. IN PERSON: Visit any of one of our five branches and collect a paper entry log. Please ensure you return your paper logs to your local City of Ryde Libraries branch by Monday 9 February 2026 for your chance to WIN in the grand prize draw.

Log at least five days that you read and/or five book titles for your chance to WIN!

You can read any type of book, including audiobooks, picture books, graphic novels... They all count, as does listening to a book read by someone else, and reading the same book multiple times.

Also every five days read and/or every five book titles read equals an additional entry so you can keep reading all summer long for more chances to WIN!
