West Ryde Library Refurbishment

West Ryde Library will receive a fresh new look later this year, with new paint, carpet and furniture and a revamped interior. The children's area will receive an exciting makeover.

As a result, West Ryde Library will be closed from 16 November until 7 December inclusive. After hours return chutes and item reservations will not be available at West Ryde Library during this period.

All other libraries will be open according to their usual hours.

We apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to unveiling the newly refurbished library in December.

Opening Hours

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10.00am - 5.00pm 
Tuesday and Thursday: 10.00am - 8.00pm 
Saturday: 9.30am - 5.00pm 
Sunday: 12 noon - 4.00pm 

Book return chutes are available at the front of the library. These are only available for the return of items when the library is closed.  


Facilities include:

  • Small Group Study for library related use. Bookings essential, conditions apply
  • Disabled toilet facilities
  • Wheelchair access
  • Hearing Loop installed
  • Parents room
  • Computers with access to Internet, MS Office

Regular activities at West Ryde Library:

Knit and Crochet at Your Library

Join fellow knitters and crocheters in making squares and blankets for charity. The group meets 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Beginners welcome.


Justice of the Peace

Members of the NSW Justices Association volunteer their services at the our Libraries. A Justice of the Peace service is available at West Ryde library on the following days:

  • Tuesday 10.00am - 12 noon
  • Thursday 2.00 - 4.00pm

As this service is performed by volunteers we encourage you to contact West Ryde library before attending with your documents to ensure that the Justice of the Peace is available at the proposed time and to avoid any disappointment on the rare occasion that a Justice of the Peace isn’t available.

Council Kiosk

Residents can now access a range of services and information previously only available from the Civic Centre. For more information, see the Council Kiosk at the Library page.
