The Quiet Pod

The Quiet Pods at Ryde, Eastwood and West Ryde Libraries are soundproof spaces, ideal for taking short phone calls and virtual meetings, or focusing on individual or group work for up to 2 hours at a time.

Eastwood Library Quiet Pod:

  • 1 pod available
  • 4-person capacity
  • 4 x power points and 2 x USB-C charging ports
  • Adjustable lighting and ventilation on each side of the table

Ryde Library Quiet Pod:

  • 1 pod available
  • 1-person capacity
  • Ergonomic height-adjustable stool and table
  • Footrest
  • 1 x power point and 1 x USB-C charging port

West Ryde Library Quiet Pods:

  • 2 pods available
  • 4-person capacity per pod
  • 4 x power points and 2 x USB-C charging ports
  • Adjustable lighting and ventilation on each side of the table
  • 1 pod with wheelchair access and adjustable furniture

How to Book

Library members can book the Quiet Pod within branch opening hours for a maximum of 2 hours per person per day.

Bookings can be made by library members 16 years or over, and up to 7 days in advance. To make a booking:

  • Call Ryde Library (9952 8352), Eastwood Library (9952 8375) or West Ryde Library (9952 8376)
  • Speak to staff in-person at the branch you would like to book at

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your booking to check-in at the library service desk. If you are later than 15 minutes from the start time of your booking, your booking time will be forfeited and open up for other library members to book.

Conditions of Use

  • Quiet Pod bookings are available within branch opening hours
  • You must be 16 years or over to use the Quiet Pod
  • Bookings are available for a maximum of 2 hours per person per day
  • No food or drink is allowed within the Quiet Pod. Bottled water is accepted
  • You must check in with staff on arrival to confirm your booking
  • Bookings will be forfeited if you arrive later than 15 minutes from the start of your booking
  • Bookings are prioritised. If you do not have a booking or have exceeded a booking, you may be asked to vacate
  • City of Ryde Libraries reserves the right to accept or refuse any or all requests for bookings
  • Rooms may not be used for commercial or business purposes (e.g. private tutoring). Please note Council has a variety of Community Venues that can be hired.
