Australia vs Tunisia World Cup

The City of Ryde will hold a live screening of the FIFA World Cup match between Australia and Tunisia. The match could be a tough one with African Confederation team Tunisia ranked ahead of the Socceroos heading into the World Cup. 

The event will take place from 2.00 - 11.00pm on Saturday 26 November at ELS Hall Park, Kent Road, North Ryde. Ahead of the match there will be a range of soccer-related activities including a local soccer tournament, shooting practice and goalkeeping activities and a special appearance by the Parraroos, ParraMatildas and Australian A-League Team representatives. The main match between Australia and Tunisia will kick-off at 9.00pm on a large 12-metre outdoor screen.

16 Days of Activism

Domestic violence is an issue that we all need to work together on to prevent and stop within the community. At least 1 in six women and 1 in 17 men in NSW have experienced partner violence. The City of Ryde will hold a number of events as part of the 16 Days of Activism, which is a global campaign against gender-based violence. 

One of the events which focuses on healing will involve free guided meditations. Award-winning yoga instructor, Amrita Kohli will hold both face-to-face and online sessions. 

The face-to-face sessions will take place on Tuesday 29 November 2022 from 1.00 - 2.00pm at West Ryde Community Hall, 5 Anthony Road, West Ryde and Thursday 1 December 2022 from 1.00 - 2.00pm at Shepherds Bay Community Centre, 3A Bay Drive, Meadowbank. 

The online session will take place on Friday 25 November 2022 between 11.00am - 12.00pm.

Artisan Ryde Retrospective Exhibition

Art has the ability to bring people from all different backgrounds together. Local group Artisans Ryde has organised an upcoming exhibition to showcase their skills in multiple artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, photography, collage, calligraphy, jewellery, digital art media and many other skills. 

Artisans Ryde is a group of diverse artists collaborating to create original and innovative art in a nurturing environment. The group has been working in Ryde for more than 10 years and has a focus on creating community, building skills and supporting artists.

The exhibition will take place from 9.00am - 4.00pm on Friday 25 November 2022 and 9.00am - 1.00pm on Saturday 26 November 2022 at the INTO-ARTS Studio + Gallery, 71 Ryedale Road, West Ryde.
