The City of Ryde is committed to improving our living environment through the creation of a sustainable, liveable, and cool City. Council has aligned it vision for the future city shaping with the State Government through implementing tree planting programmes as part of the Premier’s Priority Greening strategy.

As part of our commitment to the state government programme and to increase Ryde's canopy cover to 15% by 2030, Council will be planting new street trees throughout the suburb of Ryde. 

WHEN WILL THE STREET TREE PLANTING TAKE PLACE?

Works are scheduled to commence from 1 May 2023, through to late September 2023.

WHAT WILL THE WORKS INCLUDE?

Council will plan and implement the planting of new nature strip trees based on the feedback received during the community consultation period, as well as install temporary tree protection structures.

WHERE WILL THE STREET TREES BE PLANTED?

Careful consideration is given to the location and tree species that is best suited for your street. All locations are individually assessed and existing constraints taken in to consideration.
