Last year during Stage 2 Have Your Say for Gannan and McCauley Parks, we asked the community to provide feedback on a Draft Masterplan. You told us that you would like to see more landscaping, increased seating, improved paths and improved community sporting and passive recreation facilities. Following this feedback, we have revised the Draft Masterplan design to include new fitness equipment, new cricket nets, additional seating, improved park entrances and signage, improved natural area and additional native trees, grass and groundcover plantings.

Due to the increasing community needs for sportsgrounds across the City of Ryde, the Stage 3 Revised Draft Masterplan for Gannan and McCauley Parks now includes sports field lighting. Recent modelling of supply and demand of sportsgrounds by the City of Ryde and the Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils has identified a current and future shortfall of sportsgrounds in the City of Ryde. Council is implementing a range of sportsground strategies to meet the current and future needs of the community. Gannan Park is one of the few areas that can immediately help meet this need.

Council is aware some community members feel strongly about sports field lighting in Gannan Park and it is important to Council that everyone has an opportunity to have their say on the Revised Draft Masterplan. Therefore, Council has now placed the revised plan, including sports field lighting on exhibition for your comment.
