The City of Ryde is home to six vegetation communities. The natural vegetation supports a rich variety of animal life and native plant species.
Although a large percentage of the City of Ryde’s natural vegetation has been cleared, significant bushland areas have survived.
Main tree species include Sydney Blue Gum and Blackbutt. Forest Oak and Sydney Red Gum also occur.
Main tree species include Forest Red Gum, Grey Gum, Stringybarks and Ironbarks.
Main tree species are Smooth-barked Apple, Red Bloodwood, Sydney Peppermint, Grey Gum, Blackbutt and Turpentine.
Main tree species are Narrow-leaved Apple, Smooth-barked Apple, Red Bloodwood, Scribbly Gum, Sydney Peppermint and Scaly Bark.
Main tree species include Turpentine, Grey Gum, Grey Ironbark and Thin-Leaved Stringybark.
