Solar Ryde Program
An increase in roof top solar within the City of Ryde aligns with Council’s adopted community net zero emission by 2040 or earlier target.
In May 2024, the NSW State Government announced that from November 1, 2024, residents installing batteries can get financial incentives ranging from $1600 to $2400, depending on the battery size, as part of the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).
This program aims to help homes and businesses use more solar energy and cut electricity costs. NSW State will provide a list of approved suppliers, called Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs), who are certified to perform these installations.
In support of the NSW Government program the Solar Ryde Program has been placed on hold and residents will be directed to these approved suppliers for any renewable technology installations. Visit the NSW Government website for more information about incentives for solar batteries.
