Shrimptons Creek Precinct Activation - Wilga Park and Quandong Reserve

Consultation closed on 09 July 2017

City of Ryde’s vision to connect parkland and open space along the Shrimptons Creek Corridor has been given a funding boost from the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Precinct Support Scheme. The funding will be used to enhance the area for everyone that lives, visits and works in Macquarie Park.

Improvements along the Shrimptons Creek Corridor include Wilga Park and Quandong Reserve to be relaxing recreation spaces for everyone to enjoy and use.

The proposed improvements to Wilga Park include a terraced amphitheatre for community events, or just to sit and relax on, a new amenities block, fitness equipment and improved pedestrian connections. Raised footpaths, upgrades to the existing shared pathway and new lighting will be installed to ensure all park users enjoy a safe and accessible shared user path.

The proposed improvements to Quandong Reserve include new lighting along the pathway, new seating and updated fencing along the frontages.
