Meadowbank Footpath Works

Meadowbank Footpath Works

A pedestrian detour has been implemented along Railway Road, Meadowbank due to the temporary closure of the eastern footpath between Constitution Road and Underdale Lane.

The closure supports upcoming public domain works to lower and upgrade the footpath, aimed at improving pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area. The works are being carried out by Buildcorp as part of the development at 1–20 Railway Road, as part of conditions set by the NSW Land and Environment Court.

The project is expected to take about three months to complete.

During this period, a signed pedestrian detour will guide foot traffic around the construction zone. Traffic management measures will be implemented in line with an approved traffic control plan and include:

  • Traffic controllers stationed at the intersection of Railway Road/Bay Drive and Bank Street bridge.
  • A temporary 30km/h speed limit near Railway Road/Bay Drive and Bank Street.
  • Variable message signs (VMS) to advise drivers and other road users to changed traffic conditions.

Map Description

The image is an aerial (satellite-style) map of the Meadowbank Station area, showing surrounding streets, buildings, and railway infrastructure.

Railway tracks run vertically through the centre-left of the image, with Meadowbank Station platforms visible alongside them. Key roads labelled include Constitution Road at the top, Bank Street crossing the railway, and Railway Road running parallel to the tracks on the eastern side. Nearby residential and commercial buildings are outlined, and street names such as Meadow Crescent, Underdale Lane, and Angas Street are also visible.

A construction site occupies a large block on the eastern side of Railway Road, adjacent to the station. Along this section of Railway Road, a temporary footpath closure is indicated by a wide blue shaded strip extending lengthwise beside the construction area.

A temporary pedestrian detour is marked with a green line and directional arrows. The detour begins near the intersection of Constitution Road and Railway Road, runs south along the western side of Railway Road (closer to the railway tracks), crosses near Bank Street, continues further south, and then reconnects near Underdale Lane.

A legend box in the lower-right corner explains the markings:

  • Green line: Temporary Pedestrian Detour
  • Blue shading: Temporary Footpath Closure

A north arrow is shown in the top-left corner, indicating map orientation.
