Join us at the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW (KABNSW) stall and at the stage during the Sustainability Festival at Ryde Wharf Markets on Sunday 10 August 2025.

We're running free, engaging, and interactive environmental education workshops where each session dives into a different topic- from tackling litter, understanding where your waste goes and what is a circular economy to learning how to keep our waterways clean. It's a great opportunity to gain practical tips, ask questions and discover how small actions can lead to a big impact. Fun, family-friendly and informative- don't miss out!

Please see the schedule for the day. You are welcome to attend one, two or all the sessions. Please note that while everyone is welcome to join, the workshops are aimed at younger audiences.

Workshop 1: Recycling 9:30-10:15am at KABNSW Stall

What does it really mean to recycle? Discover which materials can be recycled, how recycling works, and what products can be made from old ones. With a focus on local recycling services, learn about why reducing landfill and moving towards a circular economy is key to a sustainable future. This engaging, hands-on workshop will help you to rethink waste and see the value in everyday materials.

Talk: 10:30-10:45am at the Stage

Curious about Keep Australia Beautiful Week? Come along to our 15-minute onstage talk, where KABNSW will unveil what KAB Week is all about, discuss the 2025 theme- “Picking up the Pieces”- and share how you can get involved in protecting our parks, rivers, and shared spaces.

Workshop 2: Litter 11:15am-12pm at KABNSW Stall

Discover the real impact of litter on our environment. From microplastics and cigarette butts to drink bottles and food packaging, we'll take a closer look at the most littered items and how they affect our wildlife, people, and natural spaces. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, learn about littering, changing the littering mindset and discover safe ways to clean up natural spaces.

Workshop 3: Keeping Waterways Clean 1-1:45pm at KABNSW Stall

Explore how water travels through the local catchment and how pollution- both personal and industrial- can affect water quality. Through models and storytelling and by localising the issue to our Parramatta River, you will gain a deep understanding of what you can do to protect our precious waterways.
