Pick up litter and get a free ice cream!

Join us for a fun and rewarding litter pick-up activity at the Sustainability Festival at Ryde Wharf Markets.

How it works:

  1. Visit the Clean Up Australia stall during the event and express your interest.
  2. Borrow any tools you need. Gloves, rubbish pickers, and bags are available.
  3. Collect a minimum of three (3) whole pieces of litter from around the event area.
  4. Return to the stall with your litter and borrowed tools.
  5. Receive a token for a free single scoop of ice cream!
  6. Stick around to chat with the Clean Up Australia team and learn how you can get involved.

Please note:

  • Litter must be collected in whole pieces — no tearing items into smaller parts.
  • Limit of one (1) token per person.
  • Ice creams available while stocks last.
  • Tokens are valid for one (1) single scoop of ice cream only (toppings not included).
  • Tokens are valid only on the day of the event and are not redeemable for cash.

Let’s help keep the City of Ryde clean and enjoy a sweet reward for doing good!

Who is Clean Up Australia?

Founded by Ian Kiernan, AO in 1990, Clean Up Australia is one of the country’s most recognised and trusted environmental organisations, inspiring and mobilising communities to improve and conserve our environment, eliminate litter and end waste. Clean Up Australia Day is the nation's largest community-based environmental event, and more than 23 million Australians have participated since its inception.

Clean Up Australia now works with community, governments and businesses to provide practical solutions to help all Australians live more sustainably every day of the year. Today the organisation’s focus is as much on preventing litter entering our environment as it is removing what has already accumulated.
