Clients can sometimes be our best partners and collaborators. Building better relationships with them doesn’t just improve your overall business and boost your bottom line – it can also bring much-needed stability to a busy creative practice. But where, and how, do you start to train a client (so both parties benefit)? This practical workshop is designed specifically for creative practitioners who want to create longer-lasting strategic partnerships with their customers and clients. It can be tricky to start, but the secrets to brilliant professional relationships can be learned through a step-by-step approach that creates friendly boundaries and practical systems.

Parking: Parking available onsite. An access code will be sent to you prior to the workshop.

Cost - This workshop is free but registration via Eventbrite is essential. Places are limited.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?

Come along if you are a creative of any level – from recent graduate or curious hobbyist to a freelancer or an established arts practitioner. This workshop is open to anyone who lives, works, studies or plays in the City of Ryde.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

Monica Davidson, Director of Creative Plus Business Group

Monica Davidson is an award-winning expert on the creative industries, who began her professional life as a freelance journalist and filmmaker. In 2014 Monica completed her Masters degree in Screen Arts and Business at AFTRS, and was appointed as the first NSW Creative Industries Business Advisor by the Department of Industry. Shortly after she founded the social enterprise Creative Plus Business, which is dedicated to educating creative people about small business and marketing skills. In 2019, Monica was awarded the QUT Creative Enterprise Australia award for being a Creative Trailblazer that “advocates, mentors, donates, educates and advises within Australia’s creative economy”. Monica continues to work as a writer, filmmaker and occasional performer.

This workshop is part of a series of free professionally run workshops teaching business and professional skills to creatives in the City of Ryde. These workshops are an opportunity to get expert advice and meet other local creatives.
