City of Ryde Council is seeking community comment for the changes to its draft Code of Meeting Practice (the Code) which governs the way the City of Ryde conducts Council and Committee meetings, up until Tuesday 3 May 2022
The Code sets standards for the calling, conduct and recording of Council and Committee meetings, ensuring the structure and process provides fair opportunities for all interested parties to contribute.
What are the key changes to the Code?
Following extensive consultation, the new Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in New South Wales (Model Meeting Code) has been finalised. The new Model Meeting Code has been prescribed under the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 (the Regulation) and Council is required to update its Code of Meeting Practice.
This draft Code has been updated to incorporate all mandatory provisions and some non-mandatory provisions of the Model Meeting Code.
