Scams and Online Threats

Scamwatch can help you keep up to date on the latest scams that are being used to swindle Internet users out of their money or identity. If you think you’ve been the victim of an Internet scam, you can report it to the ACSC or get more information from ASIC.


The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) leads the Australian Government’s efforts to improve cyber security. You can use this site to report a cyber issue.

ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission)

ASIC deals with scams involving investments, superannuation, managed funds, financial advice or insurance, but tells you where to go for information on other types of scams, including online scams.

Scam Watch

Scamwatch is run by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). It provides information to consumers and small businesses about how to recognise, avoid and report scams.
