The City of Ryde has been successful in obtaining a $3.8M Federal Grant as part of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (Phase 2).

This grant supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects. As part of this grant, Forrest Road (between Malvina Street and the cul-de-sac) and Malvina Street, Ryde (between Forrest Road and Buffalo Road) have been identified for road renewal works to provide much needed parking, footpath and stormwater improvements.

The works will have the following major components:

Malvina Street, Ryde (Forrest Road to Buffalo Road)

Major components of the works include:

  • Stormwater improvements
  • Kerb and gutter works
  • Driveway adjustments to eliminate gutter bridges
  • Full width concrete footpath in school bus zone
  • Road re-sheeting and line marking
Forrest Road, Ryde (Malvina Street to cul de sac)

Major components of the works include:

  • 10 additional 90 degree car parking spaces
  • 2m wide concrete footpath connection
  • Stormwater improvements
  • Road re-sheeting and line marking
  • Kerb realignment
Budget

$1.8 Million

The works will be carried out between out Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm and on Saturdays between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience during the construction period and we appreciate your patience during this time.
