Henderson Street, Denistone East - Road Kerb Renewal

The City of Ryde is committed to the delivery and maintenance of high-quality infrastructure including safe and sustainable roads for the community. As part of this commitment, Henderson Street (from Kings Road to cul-de-sac), Denistone East was identified for renewal work.

What will the work involve?

The work will be undertaken in two stages:

1. Construction of new kerb and gutter, footpaths, stormwater pits, and driveway adjustment (by Council Operations), commencing end of May 2024, weather permitting.
2. Road reconstruction work (by External Contractor) following completion of Stage 1. Road will be closed for approximately 2 weeks during construction and the contractor will provide a letter confirming dates to the impacted residents closer to the time.
 
When will the work take place?

The kerb and gutter, driveway adjustment work is scheduled to commence from end of May 2024 and anticipated to be completed by mid-June 2024, weather permitting. Construction hours are Monday to Friday and some Saturdays between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm.

It will be followed by the Stage 2 road reconstruction work to be completed in June/July 2024. Our contractor will provide a further notification approximately one week prior to work commencing.

How will traffic be affected during the construction?

For Stage 1 of construction, on-street parking and driveway access will be affected at times during the work.

For Stage 2 road reconstruction, the road will be closed for approximately two weeks. Our contractor will liaise with impacted residents in advance of any restrictions and work to minimise any inconvenience. Traffic control will be in place when required to assist with access through the area.
