As our fight to save TG Millner Fields intensifies, I want to remind everyone that this passionate community campaign has always been based on a bipartisan belief that the 6.2ha site must be retained as active open space. I am calling for that bipartisanship to stay strong as the bulldozers that could destroy this precious green oasis start to warm their engines. We know there was a promise by the Ryde Labor candidate before the 2023 state election to save TG Millner and we know there have been similar commitments from the federal Labor member for Bennelong.We need to once again hear all voices raised in solidarity. This campaign is not about anti-housing NIMBY-ism because the City of Ryde is proudly leading the way for necessary housing uplift in Sydney. Instead, it’s about ensuring that the residents of our rapidly growing City will have a wonderful and much needed place to play for generations to come. If TG Millner goes, it’s gone forever.

These booklets have been produced by the City of Ryde as a guide to exploring our rich local history and come with details of our early settlement, the fascinating stories behind our best-known landmarks and helpful maps showing exactly where they are. Spring school holidays begin next week and once again Council is providing some fantastic options to keep the kids busy. Our libraries are providing some fun and educational activities under the banner of ‘Blast your Mind’ while our Active Kids and Active Youth programs cater for those who love to get outdoors and run around.
