City of Ryde is reminding our community that tree vandalism is a serious offence, with tree poisoning and vandalism in bush reserves and on private property a growing problem across Sydney.
Significant resources are required to investigate and identify those responsible and, where evidence permits, Council will pursue enforcement action with substantial financial penalties and potential legal action.
If a sudden, unexplained decline in the health of a public street tree or a tree on a neighbouring property is observed do not touch the affected area or intervene. Rather, lodge a report with Council so our qualified arborists can conduct a formal assessment and soil test.
Council is aware of vandalism to a mature Eucalyptus saligna tree located at 113A Coxs Road, North Ryde. Council's Tree Management team is continuing to monitor the condition of the tree, which is located on privately owned land.
