Medical Waste

Council provides a free service for residents who suffer from diabetes or kidney failure, enabling them to dispose of syringes and dialysis tubing in a safe manner. 
Residents can drop off their syringes and dialysis material at any of the participating pharmacies listed below.

Please Note: Syringes being disposed of must be placed in a proper sharps container. Sharps containers are available for free from the Customer Service Centre at 1 Pope Street, Ryde. There are restrictions as to the number of free containers available each year with a maximum of two free sharps containers able to be collected at any one time, for more information please contact the waste department at waste@ryde.nsw.gov.au.
