At its meeting on Tuesday 22 September 2020, Council resolved for City of Ryde staff to investigate installing a footpath in Arnold Street, Ryde (even house numbers) to improve accessibility and to consult affected residents.
Following site investigations, Council has developed a draft concept plan for the installation of a new footpath in Arnold Street. We would like to hear your feedback on the proposed footpath.
WHAT ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES?
The proposal includes the installation of a 1.2metre-wide concrete footpath along the southern side and eastern sides of Arnold Street, Ryde (even house numbers), to improve safety and access. A concept plan showing the location of the proposed footpath can be found in the 'View the Concept Plan' tab to the right.
WILL ANY TREES AND VEGETATION BE IMPACTED?
It is a priority for Council to ensure there is minimal impact on trees and vegetation and this has been considered in the draft designs. As part of the proposed footpath, 2 trees will need to be removed along with some clearing of vegetation to accommodate the new footpath. However, locally indigenous trees will be planted to replace the removed trees and vegetation following construction.
