Create and design our City of Ryde Libraries bookmarks!

This year's theme is: 80 years of Stories

This year marks the 80th anniversary of our library service, and we’d love you to be part of the celebration. Design a library bookmark inspired by your favourite library memory, beloved book or borrowed items, special reading spot, or a memorable experience with one of our librarians. We want to see what reading and libraries mean to you.

Create a bookmark that celebrates 80 years of stories, creativity, learning, and connection at your library!

Five winning designs will be selected and printed into a library bookmark that will be available for FREE from your local City of Ryde Libraries branch.

Winners will receive a gift voucher worth $50.

The competition will run between Monday 28 September 2026 to Monday 19 October 2026. Entries will only be accepted during this period.

Competition Terms and Conditions

City of Ryde Libraries “Design a Library Bookmark 2026” Competition – Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply:

  1. The Promoter is City of Ryde Libraries of 1 Pope Street, Ryde NSW 2112, ABN number 81 621 292 610.
  2. The City of Ryde “Design a Library Bookmark” Competition commences at 9:00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Monday 28 September 2026 and ends at 9:00pm AEST on Monday 19 October 2026.
  3. Entry into the promotion is open to valid members of the City of Ryde Libraries.
  4. To enter the competition, participants design a library bookmark and submit their designs via the online form at: www.ryde.nsw.gov.au/bookmarkcomp or completing the entry form at one of the City of Ryde Library branches.
  5. Participation in the competition by completing the above step is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  6. Entries into the competition are not limited.
  7. City of Ryde staff members, Councillors and their families and any promotional partners are not able to enter the competition.
  8. Five winning designs will be judged and win a $50 gift card.
  9. The winners will be contacted by the promoter via email or telephone and will be required to collect the prize from Ryde Library, 1 Pope Street, Ryde NSW 2112.
  10. The Promoter will contact winners within two week of the closing date.
  11. The Prize, or any unused portion of the Prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The Prize is not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
  12. The Prize is subject to any conditions imposed by the Promoter.
  13. By entering the competition, the winners consent to their names being published as winners of the competition and to participate in any publicity accompanying or resulting from this promotion in printed and/or online formats.
  14. All decisions made by the judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. City of Ryde will not be responsible for any entries that are not received for any reason, by the closing date and time, whether lost, delayed, corrupted or otherwise, and whether or not due to any technical difficulties or malfunctions.
  16. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award any of the Prizes to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

Definitions
 “Participant” means any person who enters the “Hidden Histories 2026’ Bookmark competition” Competition
“Promoter” means the City of Ryde Libraries of 1 Pope Street, Ryde NSW 2112
