The town centre will be enhanced in line with community feedback that was received via the ‘Have Your Say’ survey in August 2020. This feedback helped shape the design of the upgrades and now construction is about to begin in early April 2021.

The works will include the rebuild of the entire streetscape, including undergrounding of the current overhead powerlines, removing old power poles and installing multifunction poles. There will also be drainage works, footpath works, a raised pedestrian crossing at the train station and road resheeting. New landscaping, planting and street furniture will complete the town centre rebuild.

The rebuild work is being done in parallel with a separate upgrade to the commuter car park near the West Ryde train station by TfNSW. Click here for more details.

PLAN OF REMAINING WORKS (weather and COVID impacts permitting)

The site compound on Herbert Street (near Anzac Park) has been removed to reopen parking spaces to the public.
