The primary role of the Ryde Youth Council is to provide advice to Council on matters relating to the needs and concerns of young people in the City of Ryde to ensure they are able to participate and engage actively in all aspects of community and civic life. The Youth Council also assists young people to develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Community members must be young people who are representative of, but not limited to, at least one of the following:
Nominations will be assessed by Council against the following criteria:
Priority of membership will be allocated to young people that live, study, or work in the City of Ryde.
Membership will be organised so that there is equal and fair representation of young people from across the age range and the various cultural, social and interest groups within the City of Ryde.
